Nutty Science

Did any of you notice that your squirrel population and your acorn count increased at almost the same rate? Why do you think that is? What do you think will happen to the squirrel population here in Fairview Park over the next winter/ spring with the large number of acorns that are being produced this fall? Why do you think that? What other things did you notice when you added squirrels or hawks to the simulation?

I have lots of squirrels in my backyard. How many acorns will each of them eat? What other animals have you seen eating acorns?
